Representations of corporeality vary in different social groups.
Indeed, the body is always socially invested in specific ways. The body that we see is far from being a definitive reality.
Walking action, natural movement, spontaneous to automatic.
Abstract willingness affected by the light, the movement of the sound, the geometry from one point to all directions, the lines and curves. From abstract to narrative affected by your rhythm, my rhythm out of rhythm, how you look, where you look and why you look. Leading to a change or transformation of me, you and us. Expected or not, but it's an information translated to a code in movement. Movement to decipher codes.

P.A.R.T.S.
This year's program by the P.A.R.T.S. graduates demonstrates that Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker's school produces promising choreographers. The first evening examines the social codification of bodies and movement's potential for meaning. The second program focuses on the relationship between language or text and movement.

José Paulo Dos Santos (born in 1988) started dancing as a tap dancer in a social project in his hometown Araraquara-São Paulo and studied ballet and contemporary at The Dance Center Gilsamara Moura. He started his professional career in 2005 when he joined Cia Shuffle Trips where he worked until 2008 touring Brazil and South America. He worked as a teacher and choreographer with local children from the social project EMDIN. In 2008 he was invited to IPL »International Laboratory Performance« in Peru directed by Khosro Adibi to work with artists from South America and Europe. During his time at P.A.R.T.S. he had the opportunity to teach kids at Dancing Kids, performed KDO directed by Franco Dragone (Cirque du Soleil) and had numerous dance classes and workshop.

Born in Tunis in 1990, Mohamed Toukabri began dancing at age 13, starting with Break Dance with his friends at the train station in downtown Tunis. Later he joined the Sybel Ballet Theatre led by Syhéme Belkhodja, the director of the festival La Rencontre Chorégraphique de Carthage. At age 16, Mohamed trained in Paris at the International Academy of Dance directed by Nicole Chirpaz, where his story with contemporary dance started. In 2007 he returned to Tunisia to follow his first professional training at the Mediterranean Centre for Contemporary Dance. There he met guest choreographers such as Ballet Preljocaj, Gilles Jobin or Abou Lagraa. In 2008 he joined P.A.R.T.S., and in 2010 he took part in »Babel« by Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui and Damien Jalet.

Youness Khoukhou (born 1984) started breakdancing in Marrakech, where he grew up. In 2006 he started studying at CMDC (Centre Méditerranéen de Dance Contemporaine Tunisie) for one year and in the same year he commenced his studies of psychomotor and body work at Lafaurie Monbadon Center in France with Jacques Garros. In 2008 he came to Belgium to study at P.A.R.T.S. During his formation he participates as a collaborator and dancer in projects with Morrocan and European artists.

Radouan Mriziga (born in 1985) started to get interested in movement during his high school studies, through street art, sports, and experimental science classes. He started taking dance classes in Marrakech with the company ANANIA, Jacques Garros, Jeans Mass, Adil Boh and Bernardo Montet. In 2006 he went to Tunisia to study dance at the Mediterranean Center of Contemporary Dance. Having moved to France he then attended workshops and classes in dance and other disciplines. Since 2005 he is studying body-work with Jacques Garros, based on the psychomotor approach. He started his studies at P.A.R.T.S. in 2008.
